Polish international, Robert Lewandowski, has signed a five year pre-contract that would allow him to join Bayern Munich at the end of June.
According to ESPNFC, the 25-year old was pictured on Saturday arriving at the practice of Bayern’s club doctor, Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt. Since Borussia Dortmund refused to sell the forward last summer, they won’t be compensated when he joins their arch-rivals. The five year contract is said to be worth 11 million euros a year.
Lewandowski is the joint top scorer in the Bundesliga this season, with 11 goals in 17 games. Since joining Dortmund in 2010, he has scored 81 goals.
The polish striker is the second player Jurgen Klopp has lost to the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League Champions in two seasons: Mario Gotze left at the end of last season. The German has been linked with several replacements for his departing hit-man.
Since Pep Guardiola only plays one center forward, Lewandowski’s move means Bayern’s No. 9, Mario Mandzukic, would have to consider transferring if he wants to play regular first team football. The Croatian has had a stellar season so far scoring 13 goals in all competition this year. The 27 year old has been linked with a move to current Premier League leaders, Arsenal.
